If there is an error in an invoice that has already been sent, you can create a credit note for it. The credit note reverses the original invoice. If you need to send your customer a corrected invoice, create a credit note first and then create a new invoice with the correct information.
How to create a credit note
- Log in to the UKKO service.
- Open "Incomes".
- Select the invoice you want to create a credit note for.
- Remove any payment transaction from the invoice:
- Open the invoice details.
- Select the trash bin icon next to the payment transaction.
- Once the payment transaction has been removed, select from the invoice drop-down menu "Issue credit note".
- If the original invoice contained incorrect information, create a new invoice with the correct information after creating the credit note.
You can copy the original invoice before creating the credit note. This makes creating the new invoice faster.
Please note before creating a credit note
- Any payment transaction must be removed from the invoice before you can create a credit note.
- If the trash bin icon is not visible, the invoice may belong to a closed accounting period or may already have been processed in the accounting records.
- The credit note is sent in the same way as the original invoice, for example as an e-invoice, email invoice or paper invoice.
- If you do not want the credit note to be sent automatically to your customer, change the delivery method of the original invoice to "PDF download" before creating the credit note:
- Open the original invoice.
- Select "resend".
- Change the delivery method to "PDF download".
