Starting from the beginning of 2025, information of private trader business' has been considered personal data, and it will no longer be entered directly into the YTJ.fi database unless the entrepreneur registers for VAT or the Trade Register. Since the VAT obligation becomes mandatory for the vast majority of new entrepreneurs only after exceeding an annual turnover of €20,000, UKKO Entrepreneur does not automatically register private trader business' founded with our assistance in the VAT register. As a result, the UKKO Business Account service provider cannot directly link the newly established business and the entrepreneur opening the account with the information available to them, and therefore an additional verifying document is required.
When you receive such a request in connection with opening a UKKO Business Account, proceed as follows:
If you have not registered your business in the Trade Register after starting the account opening process, you can find the correct document in your OmaVero message folder. This message was sent to you when your Business ID was created and confirms that its information has been added to the Tax Administration’s registers. Download this file and send it to the UKKO Business Account service provider via the link you received. A screenshot is not acceptable; the document must be uploaded in PDF format.
If you have already registered your business in the Trade Register (for example, if you wanted to choose a business name or your line of business requires registration), the company information that can be downloaded from the YTJ.fi information service is also an acceptable verifying document. Please note that if YTJ does not display your company’s name, the Trade Register process has not yet been completed.
