If you use your own home to do business, you are entitled to a home office deduction.
The UKKO Private Trader service applies for a home office deduction at the end of the tax year on behalf of the entrepreneur. At the turn of the year, we will send a questionnaire to UKKO Private Trader entrepreneurs, in which we will find out what expenses are to be deducted in the tax return. If you have used your own home to do business, please tell us about this in your tax return survey.
If you work solely at home and do not have separately rented business premises, the costs of your own home do not need and should not be recorded in the accounts during the financial year - they are only reported in the tax return as a deduction for the office.
